Thailand, officially the Kingdom of Thailand and formerly known as Siam, is a country at the centre of the Southeast Asian Indochinese Peninsula.

☑️ 1932 - Thai kingdoms and the late Kingdom of Siam were under absolute rule of kings. After the "democratic revolution" in 1932, led by Westernized bureaucrats and a tradition-oriented military, the country officially became a constitutional monarchy with a prime minister as the government head.
☑️ 1947 - Siamese coup d'état of 1947
☑️ 2001 - Thaksin Shinawatra becomes prime minister for first time.
☑️ 2006 - Thai coup d'état
☑️ 2011 - Pro-Thaksin Pheu Thai party wins a landslide victory in elections. Thaksin's sister Yingluck becomes prime minister.
☑️ 2014 - Thai coup d'état
☑️ 2016 - Vajiralongkorn, is King of Thailand since 2016.

Hello! Today I will tell you about the geo history of Vietnam.

Modern Vietnam was born upon the Proclamation of Independence from France in 1945. Following Vietnamese victory against the French in the First Indochina War, which ended in 1954, the nation was divided into two rival states: communist North and anti-communist South. Conflicts intensified in the Vietnam War, which saw extensive US intervention in support of South Vietnam and ended with North Vietnamese victory in 1975.

🌐 Some key dates in Vietnam's history:

☑️ 1859-83 - France slowly colonises Indochina.
☑️ 1940 - Japan takes control of Indochina.
☑️ 1945 - Ho Chi Minh proclaims independence and establishes the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
☑️ 1946 - French seek to regain control. Anti-French resistance war - or the First Indochina War - spreads across country.
☑️ 1954 - Vietnam is partitioned between North and South. Conflict between the two rival states rages for the next two decades, in what is known as the Vietnam War or the Second Indochina War. The US is heavily involved in support of the South.
☑️ 1975 - Southern cities fall one by one until communist forces seize Saigon.
☑️ 1976 - Vietnam is reunified as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Hundreds of thousands flee abroad, including many "boat people".
☑️ 1979 - Vietnam invades Cambodia and ousts the Khmer Rouge regime of Pol Pot.
